Crowe Horwath International 2009 Annual Meeting

As a new member firm from Hong Kong, we attended the Crowe Horwath International 2009 Annual Meeting held in Beijing during 15-18 November 2009. Our Executive Committee Members, International Liaison Officer and some directors attended the Meeting along with many Crowe Horwath members. The Meeting included speeches from a senior official of the Ministry of Finance, PRC, presentations by guest speakers and fellow Crowe Horwath members. We exchanged ideas, attended the breakout sessions and made new acquaintances. Around 300 representatives from over 60 countries participated in the event.

On 15 November, our Chairman Mr Paul M P Chan and our CEO Mr Charles W D Chan made a presentation to all participants introducing our firm as a new full-service CPA member firm of Crowe Horwath International in Hong Kong.

On 17 November, our Executive Committee Members and Directors visited the headquarters of Crowe Horwath China CPAs Co., Ltd in Beijing. As strategic allies, both sides exchanged ideas and conducted in-depth and comprehensive discussions on joint cooperation in view of future joint audit cases of H shares and A+H shares. We all agreed to establish a high level communication and cooperation platform for a unified, effective and consistent approach in areas such as joint assignments, exchange of staff, training, technical support and quality control and etc. Detailed operational procedures were also drafted for fine tuning of a working model. With this platform, we expect that we are well positioned and to serve our existing clients and attract new clients in mainland China.
